Mission:
Support implementation of the approved
City of Edina Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan that serves all levels of bicyclists, connects key destinations
including safe routes to schools, and integrates with the Twin Cities’ regional
bike network. Our vision is a progressive bicycle-friendly
community where citizens can integrate cycling into their daily lives.
We invite
you: To join your bicycle friends and neighbors in partnering
with the City and other advocates for livable, sustainable, and healthy
communities. Edina City officials have been forward-thinking in their
support for biking as a viable transportation option.
Participate by: Attending events in and making comments
to the information in our
blog. Use your bike to commute to
school and work, do errands, exercise, meet friends...and
have fun! Questions? Please contact our Bike Edina community
site contact,
Kirk Johnson or

miles on the nearby Cedar Lake Trail. We have bikes available if you
do not currently own one.

- 3rd Annual Autumn Bike the Greenway:
Saturday, October 2nd.
This info will be published on the
Edina Community Education Services site, based on our spring
ride. Explore gorgeous
scenery in Edina and neighboring Minneapolis by venturing through
the Edina Country Club bike route to connect to the Cedar Lake Trail
and Midtown Greenway. The Midtown Greenway is a 5.5-mile long former
railroad corridor in south Minneapolis with bicycling and walking
trails. We'll roll through on the way to our destination, the new
Martin Olav Sabo Bridge, a suspension bridge built for biking and
walking. Along the way, we'll visit community gardens, stop at the
Bike Center (Minnesota's only bike shop accessible only by biking or
walking), and have a great photo opportunity on the suspension
bridge. Join Edina resident Kirk Johnson, member of the Bike Edina
Task Force and Hiawatha Bicycle Club ride leader, for this
approximately 21-mile, moderately-paced ride ideal for a leisure
speed of 12 - 14 miles per hour on the flat areas. The terrain is
mostly flat and most of it on routes with no motorized traffic. The
ride starts at Edina City Hall parking lot at 8:45am sharp! The ride
will take approximately 3 hours. Bike helmets are required.
Bring your own bottled water and dress weather appropriate. FREE
Pre-registration encouraged online or call 952-848-3956.

- Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail -- view this
news site, hosted by Three Rivers Park District.
- The Three Rivers Park District owns the project and is
responsible for assembling recommendations for decision-making by
Edina elected officials and City staff.
- The Bike Edina Task Force (BETF) supports the concept of two
regional trails, a north-south trail and an east-west trail, both of
which are identified at a conceptual level in the approved City of
Edina Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan, linked below. The
BETF does not have any decision making role with the project. The
Nine Mile Creek Regional Trail would implement the east-west
facility. Want more background and info on how to express your
opinion to decision makers? Visit the Nine Mile
Creek Regional Trail link on the left.
